The Straw That Broke Jerry Falwell’s Credibility

It’s not good to have a big mouth when you are forever willing to apologize for what you’ve said.  That seemingly is “the story of Reverend Jerry Falwell’s life.”  Reverend Jerry Falwell, has been the Big Mouth Frog one too many times and has cowardice himself by apologizing out of fearing for his life after having spoken the truth in the first place. He fears Muslims. He fears the media.  He fears having a bad reputation. When Falwell apologized for what he said about Muhammed, he denied the teachings of Christianity; just what those of the Islamic faith want to see.

 

Let the Muslims tell it, it’s not wise for those outside of Islam to remark negatively about the Islamic faith.  When such negative remarks are made, the Muslims, in most instances, don’t see it simply as the outsider being unlettered in the Islamic faith, but see it as blasphemy.  It is seen as blasphemy because it’s thought of as an attack on the Islamic faith when it is in fact, TRUTH.  What Falwell (Franklin Graham, Pat Robertson, Jerry Vines, and others as well) spoke regarding the Islamic faith, was seen as blasphemy because those truths were spoken against Islam, and being that truth is not designed to make one feel good, the word “blasphemy” was immediately screamed.  What Falwell said about Muhammed was not idiotic and irresponsible, as some say, but it was truth.

 

Muslims say that those who speak against Islam “don’t understand the religion of Islam.”  How hard is it to understand….

 

“Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the religion of truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low. (Surah 9:29)

 

 “And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah.  That is their saying with their mouths.  They imitate the saying of those who disbelieve of old.  Allah (himself) fighteth against them.  How perverse are they!” (Surah 9:30)

 

 “O Prophet!  Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites!  Be harsh with them.  Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey’s-end. (Surah 9:73)

 

 “O ye who believe!  Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto him). (Surah 9:123)

 

How hard it is to understand that Muslims are to fight against Christians and Jews – those who have been given the Scriptures and don’t believe in Allah?  How hard is that to understand!  How hard is it to understand that there is misinformation in the Koran?  The Bible doesn’t say that Ezra is the son of the God of Israel and nor does it say that Jesus is the son of Allah.  How hard is that to understand?  How hard is it to understand that Islam condemns all disbelievers to hell. It’s not at all hard to understand Islam.  Those Christians who have spoken against Islam when asked about Muhammed and Islam, understand that the god of Islam IS NOT the same God that Christians and Jews worship. The god of Islam speaks out of a different side of his mouth than that of the God of Christians and Jews.  God does not have a split personality and He does not play the left against the right. Islam’s god and the Christian God are not the same God/god.  Dawud El-Amin, imam at the Islamic Center of Polk County, Winter Haven, Florida said:

 

“There’s just one God, one human family.  We might call him by different names, but we’re talking about the creator who created us all.  We [Muslims] don’t believe we serve a different God than Christians and Jews”  (The Ledger Online, “Evangelical Christians Grapple Verbally With Muslims: War Of Words” by Cary McMullen, December 16, 2001).

 

Attributes! my man; the attributes are not the same in Allah and the God of the Christians and Jews.  Therefore, we are not all serving the same God/god.  If we were, Falwell would not have made the statement that he made about Muhammed.

 

Jerry Falwell’s Latest Stated Truth And Apology

 
The latest apology came after Jerry Falwell’s 60 Minutes interview in early October.  (Who knows if it’s the latest, he seems to be in the habit of saying something all the time for which he later apologizes for.

 

“You wrote an approving piece recently about a book called ‘Unveiling Islam’” Simon said to Falwell.

“And you – the authors of that book wrote, ‘The Muslim who commits acts of violence in jihad does so with the approval of Mohammed.’  Do you believe that?

“I do,” Falwell answered.

“I think Mohammed was a terrorist.  He – I read enough of the history of his life written by both Muslims and – and – non-Muslims, that he was a – a violent man, a man of war.” (CBSNews.com, “Falwell Brands Mohammed A ‘Terrorist’” reported by Bob Simon, October 6, 2002).

 

There, Falwell said it.   It came straight from his heart.

 

”…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matthew 12:34).

 

Falwell spoke the truth about Islam that was nestled in his heart – truth imbedded in him from the study of God’s Word as to how to identify evil people.  But, when the worldly people got upset at that truth, out of fear of man, Jerry Falwell apologized – he became a false Christian witness.

 

“I sincerely apologize that certain statements of mine made during an interview for the September 30 edition of CBS’s ’60 Minutes’ were hurtful to the feelings of many Muslims.  I intended no disrespect to any sincere, law abiding Muslim.

 

“In my more than 50 years of Christian ministry, I have never preached a sermon on Islam.  I have never written a book or booklet on the subject.  I have always shown respect for other religions, faiths and denominations.  Unfortunately, I answered one controversial and loaded question at the conclusion of an hour-long CBS interview which I should not have answered.  That was a mistake and I apologize” (Jerry Falwell Ministries’ press release, October 12, 2002 on Yahoo.com).

 

He retracted – he retracted because he feared their faces – the secular news media – Muslims worldwide –  he feared not being used as a commentator on the secular television news programs – and he feared not being able to go back to the Whitehouse on a continued basis. When he said he had never preached or written on Islam, he was declaring he didn’t know about Islam, so please pardon the stupid statement he had made against Muhammed.  That was a statement of fear  He feared their faces and a so-called man of God is not supposed to fear the faces of anyone.

 

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me” (Psalm 118:6)?

“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord” (Jeremiah 1:8).

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

 

“…the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me” (Hebrews 13:6).

 

I bet Reverend Falwell completely forgot all of those verses of Scripture when he feared what the Muslim Ayatollahs would or could have done to him.  Surely it must have been fear of the Ayatollahs demanding an apology from Falwell while in the same breath, condemning him to death.  He must have had flash-backs of Salman Rushdie’s death verdict issued against him for the book, “Satanic Verses” in which case it blasphemed Islam.  Being that Jerry Falwell evidently doesn’t completely trust in God and nor fear Him, it’s evident by his actions, he must have been “thanking his lucky stars above” when Lebanon’s Grand Ayatollah Fadlallah….

 

“…cautioned against resorting to ‘physical violence’ against Mr. Falwell, saying Islam is a religion of mercy and love’” (The Washington Times Online, “Rage Meets Falwell’s Comment,” October 13, 2002).

 

Interjection:  For the record, Christians do not believe in lucky stars above, just  a  facetious expression to get a point across in this case.  Facetious

 

Believe it or not, in the midst of all this, “someone” resorted to telling a lie regarding how Falwell came to declare Muhammed a terrorist. Falwell said Bob Simon directly asked if Muhammed was a terrorist – the  loaded question, but CBS Television network takes issue with that. CBS stated that the word “terrorist” was Jerry Falwell’s and that they did not prompt him in any way and nor did Bob Simon directly ask Falwell if Muhammed was a terrorist.  Something tells me that the Reverend really went the distance to not offend the Muslims and be in trouble with those whom he believes, look up to him.  What a sad day in The Church.  This is truly apostasy.

 

Dear Saints, had Jerry Falwell not done, as the great majority of Baptist do, stopped short of getting Holy Ghost Baptism after the Born Again experience, he would have had gumption enough to speak up to the Ayatollas that called for his death by praying in the spirit and through use of the keys to the Kingdom – binding and loosing in the “Name of Jesus”.  Binding and loosing those threats of harm, and personally, in Jesus’ might name and in the Spirit, I would send those threats right back on the heads of the senders – those Ayatollas and others.  Praise God!  (Holy Ghost baptism makes one as bold as Elijah, and a daring as a pigeon that comes right up to your lunch as you’re eating, and decides he’s just going to take a little bit.  Holy Ghost baptized Saints don’t apologize for the truth based on the Bible.  Amen!)  Falwell needs to stop teasing God by stopping at being Born Again and cross over the get real Pentecostal.  That’s where the power and boldness are, and you are guaranteed never to back down from any Ayatolla making a threat against you, nor anyone else.

 

Peaceful Muslims?

 

Anyone reading the Koran can see that violence is the heartbeat of that religion.  One can argue that there is violence in the Bible and yes there is.  Violence in the Old Testament most often was punishment or God’s judgment upon Israel and upon other for sin.  On the other hand, violence in the Bible wasn’t carried out because someone didn’t believe in the God of the Bible, but that is the way it is with Islam and the Koran. If you’re negative towards Islam and the Koran, you can almost always expect violence to follow. Big difference between that and the Christian reaction.   Absorb the following quote about Islamic violence from a Muslim:

 

“I am astonished by President Bush when he claims there is nothing in the Koran that justified jihad violence in the name of Islam….Is he some kind of Islamic scholar?  Has he ever actually read the Koran”? (Washington Times, “Bus Takes Up Islam’s Pompom” by Diana West, November 22, 2002).

 

It takes one of their own to tell it like it is, because George Bush and all others who say that Islam is peaceful are simply appeasing the followers of Islam – telling them in so many words that the trouble isn’t with them, but with those “old troublemaking Evangelical Christians.”  Heartbreaking!

Carl Wheeless, a retired United Methodist Missionary who once lived in Pakistan had this to say about Muslims.

 

“…I found as many saints among Muslims as Christians” (The Ledger Online, “Evangelical Christians Grappel Verbally With Muslims” by Cary McMullen.  December 16, 2001).

 

You’ve got to understand that Mr. Wheeless himself was not a saint if he recognized Muslims as saints – saved and filled with the Holy Ghost is a Saint. Hardly can anyone be labeled good or saintly when they walk in a “my way or no way religion” – very dominant – very controlling, and issuing forth dire consequences if one doesn’t give in to their edicts.

 

The Whitehouse and President Bush

 

“…views Islam as a religion that preaches peace, and the terrorist do not represent what Islam teaches” (The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, “Franklin Graham Draws Fire For Remarks On Islam” by Kevin Eckstrom, November 20, 2001).

 

The President has even remarked that Islam’s teachings are “good and peaceful” and he promotes tolerance and understanding of Islam.
 

“Islam’s teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah” (“Christian Allies of Bush Attack Islam” by Alan Elsaer, Reuters, November 28, 2001).

 

You have to pity President Bush because he sits under United Methodist teaching, rather the preaching in a “going nowhere fast” liberal and politically-correct denomination.  If he would take a spiritual look and see that if the mission of Islam is not to save souls but to impose Shirea, he would then be able to conclude that Islam is evil and wicked. Bush should also read the Koran for himself to see what it teaches and how peaceful Islam is not.       

 

The vast majority of Muslims in the world do appear to be peaceful, but that is not to say that they genuinely are a people of peace, and they are not. They may be quiet, some of them, but because they don’t have the Holy Ghost, when the devil in them rises up, woe unto you.  The “religion” of Islam is not a religion of peace – it was not founded on the principles of peace by the way of God’s Holy Spirit.  Anyone, from President Bush on down, including Jerry Falwell, who says that the majority of Muslims are peaceful, are mentally deficient or they’re afraid of some Aytollah putting a hit out on them.  In the case of the President, I rather think him spiritually deficient concerning the matter, and as for Jerry Falwell, well, (1) he doesn’t have the Holy Ghost, because he stopped short of Holy Ghost baptism; (2)  he’s afraid of some Islamic hit man taking him out; and (3) he’s afraid of never being invited back to the White House and being called on by the secular news media to give religious commentaries on particular issues.  If the majority of Muslim people don’t commit the violent acts themselves, they support the evil acts because they’re bound to one another through the Islamic faith. It is a brotherhood. These peoples have soul-ties that cement them together. There is no peace in anyone who is hate-filled, and Islam is hate-filled towards Jews and Christians.  Those aren’t “good” people!

 

Muslims will always believe that all Christians are against them.  They even believe that the Hindus, and the Buddhist, are against them. They are fighting against them, also. If there are so many good Muslims throughout the world, why aren’t the good ones rising up everyday speaking and demonstrating against the extremism amongst the fundamentalist? No, because of the brotherhood. Why do the so-called good Muslims get upset when non-Muslims speak against those extreme acts of violence? The brotherhood – the soul-ties. Why aren’t these so-called good Muslims out there reporting to the authorities those bad Muslim perpetrators of evil acts and hatred?  “Good”!  That adjective is used too freely.  When Jesus was called “Good Master,” He spoke…

 

“Why callest thou me good?  There is none good but one, that is God…” (Matthew 19:17).

 

Tell me now, how did Muslims get to be good?  Good doesn’t hate and Muslims have deep-seated hatred in them toward Christians and Jews.  When people hate others, they abide in darkness – in sin, and that’s evil.  Hatred has a blinding effect on those practicing Islam.  Thus, they cannot see light, and tend to, without conviction, condone and/or commit evil acts.  There is nothing good about anyone practicing Islam.

 

No amount of legislation will keep people from hating other people nor will it keep True Born Again Spirit-filled Uncompromising Christians from forever identifying Mohammed as an evil person and Islam as a false religion with Allah, a superior demon, as its god.  That will never change.  For Muslims to get so upset over those truths – upset enough to want to murder people for speaking against Mohammed and Islam, they need to do plenty of soul searching because there is a void in them that Islam is not filling/satisfying, that only Jesus Christ can fill.  For 2,000 plus years, beginning with the Pharisees and Sadducees, the Jewish Talmud, people have spoken unbearably ugly things about Jesus, even depicting Him in sinful art, and motion pictures – yes, it hurts, but because Jesus is love and His true followers are of love and not hate, revenge, and murder, Christians pray and they get over it.

 

“A Letter To A Christian” by Khalid Bin Abdullah, distributed by the Saudia Embassy in Washington, DC pains Christians, but they haven’t taken to violence because of it.  Lying about Jesus’ speaking of the Holy Spirit to come, was speaking of  Muhammed.

 

“4.  There are also many statements in the New Testament which brought news of Prophet Mohammed and mention him by his attribute ‘the glorified’ as the Quran indicated.  The Bible translation changed the translation where the word ‘the glorified’ was translated from ‘Paracletos’, which means ‘comforter’, instead of the original ‘Periklytos’, which means the ‘glorified’.  The word ‘comforter’ was mentioned in three places in the New Testament.  One of these statements, for example is read as follows:

        [NOTE:  Jesus spoke of the Comforter four times and not three.]

 

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.  And I will pray the father, and He shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. (John, 14:15-16)

 

“It is a fact that no prophet came after Jesus, except Mohammed” (“A Letter To A Christian” by Khalid Bin Abdullah, King Fahd National Library Cataloging-in-Publication Data, 1995).

 

This is blasphemy.  Mohammed is not God The Holy Spirit.  This kind of a lie is unforgivable.  (Saudi Muslims can hand out this kind of anti-Christ material in this country, but a Christian had better not even take a Bible into that country. How  hypocritical.  But, hey, Christians forgive and forget – not take up arms and get them.

 

Before Messiah Jesus left this earth He spoke to all who will follow Him that…

 

“…the servant [Christians] is not greater than his lord [Jesus Christ].  If they [non-Christians] have persecuted me, they will also persecute you…” (John 15:20).

 

The truly holy man, Jesus Christ, never violently rose up against those who spoke ill of Him and even hated Him.  For the Islamic leaders and followers to so quickly rise up with threats and demands toward those who speak against Islam is confirmation that Allah and the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not the same.  The God of the Christians and Jews is LOVE and Allah is not.  And as too often said, our God does not have a split personality which means either Allah is false or our God is false.  Let the real God stand up!  Elohiym Israel! 

 

Muslims need to take a page or two, or perhaps even three, from the Bible and what the non-violent Messiah Jesus had to say.

 

“Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you (Matthew 5:44)”

 

Good Muslim – Bad Muslim, God is going to stretch out His hand upon them all and they will be brought to naught after His vengeance with furious rebukes.  The Lord will cause the voice of the Muslim prayers to cease.  It is after God’s vengeance upon the religion of Islam that the door will open for the Gospel to go throughout the continents of Asia, Africa, and parts of Eastern Europe, to set the captives free from the stronghold that the very powerful ruler of darkness, the demon spirit Allah, has had on Muslims for centuries.  This is going to happen so that Jesus Christ can claim His people from amongst Muslims for salvation before His return.

 

They’re All In Cahoots Against Christians

 

Saints, this whole Islamic nightmare with Falwell, Graham, Robertson, Vines, and others, is just the beginning of shutting up the mouths of Christians before dreadful persecution comes along.

 

Newsweek’s Fareed Zakaria:  MSNBC’s website had an article by a “Fareed Zakaria” in which he referred to Falwell, Robertson, and Franklin Graham’s truths spoken about Islam as

 

“…hate-filled campaign…lighting fires that could grow into terrible conflagration”  (Newsweek, “Islamic Fundamentalists Are Having A Field Day With The Rants Of American Preachers, Which Have Been Replayed Throughout The Muslim World” by Fareed Azkaria on MSNBC.com, October 21, 2002.)

 

“Fundamentalist gain courage and their poisonous views go unchallenged” (Ibid.)

 

Referring to the United States trying to convince the Arab world that by going to war against Iraq, that the war is not against the Arab/Muslim people, he said…

 

“Our [is he really one of us?] case becomes much harder to make – and genteel efforts at cultural exchange will count for nothing – against the backdrop of bigoted ranting by preachers” (Ibid.)

 

“For the fundamentalists, September 11 solved an urgent problem.  Over the past decade they have been searching for enemies.  Their old ones – abortion-rights advocates and homosexuals – have not proved as useful as they had been, because Americans have become more tolerant on social issues….In Muslims, they have found an easier target” (Ibid.).

 

I’ll have this fellow know that he jolly-well doesn’t know what he’s talking about when he writes that Christian fundamentalist have been searching for enemies for the past 10 years because they pretty much lost the fight against the abortion-rights and homosexual movements, and that Muslims are an easier target.  Christians don’t look for enemies to fight, but do speak out on issues including the present hot topic - Islam.  As for abortion rights and homosexual movements continuing in full strength up to today, Christians did and continue to do their part – speaking out on the shameful sin and evil, and leave matters in God’s hands.  WHO, by the way, brings judgment upon people, leaders, and countries as He is doing in these United States of America with more to come.  But that is the price Americans are having to pay for having “become more tolerant on social issues” as Zakaria said.

 

        President George W. Bush’s tongue spanking of Falwell, Robertson, and others….

 

“Some of the comments that have been uttered about Islam do not reflect the sentiments of my government or the sentiments of most Americans.  Islam, as practiced by the vast majority of people, is a peaceful religion, a religion that respects others” (“Bush Embraces Islam As Peaceful Faith,” Associated Press on FoxNews.com, November 13, 2002).

 

How long has this man been a so-called Born Again Christian?  Sixteen years or so, and in all these years he has never been fed meat – he hasn’t even been drinking spiritual milk all these years.  George W. Bush is spiritually starved to death by sitting under liberal, politically correct United Methodist preaching.  Sure, he believes Islam to be a peaceful religion because he jolly-well doesn’t know spiritually better.  Our President is to be pitied. Because he doesn’t know any better, he bowed under pressure from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) urging him to step up to the plate on Islamophobia in America.  After all, he is the President and chosen leader of this country, but, as a leader of a secular nation, he should have, from the beginning, kept his Christianity out of his politicking.  Hey, anything for a vote and he r-e-a-l-l-y played the “Christian card.”

 

George W. Bush should have and even now, should separate his Bible-reading, praying, and church-going from the office of President.  Yes, as a pseudo-Christian, and that is what he is, pray, read your Bible, go to your church, but when it comes to dealing with the issues and the people of this country, Bush should be truthful, based on what he knows truth to be, and based on what is in his heart so that he doesn’t go with the wind. Because he goes with the wind, he also needs to stop exploiting the Christian-right who believe that he is their man in the White House, when he has proven that he is not.  Not since King Solomon, and some four other kings after him, has any country on this earth had a man of God leading that country who was sincerely living for God and doing things according to His will.  George Bush has proven by his Islamic statements that he is not one of us.  Prayerfully, Falwell and the rest will see that and go on about their Father in Heaven’s business – saving souls.

 

        Secretary of State Colin Powell:

 

“This kind of hatred must be rejected” (The Guardian Unlimited, “Powell Attacks Christian Right” by Oliver Burkeman, November 15, 2002).

 

This is your man, Colin Powell calling the truth spoken against Islam, hatred.  How dare he!  Oh, for sure, the Christian-right is seeing what Bush and Powell said as just a very minor disagreement that friends have from time-to-time.  Ah, shucks, they’ve overlooked what these men have said and will continue supporting them. Overlooking something of this magnitude warrants outcry from the True Church, demanding that Falwell and other Church leaders take a second and very careful close look at what President Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell have said to The Church.

 

This next statement Powell made to a group of Muslims at a November 18, 2002 end-of-the-day meal for breaking the day-long Ramadan fast.  He was describing extremism and violence since they are considered America’s greatest enemies.

 

“We must not listen to the siren song of the bigots, extremists who cloak themselves in false spirituality in an attempt to divide and to weaken us” (Yahoo News, “Powell Wants More Muslims In U.S., November 18, 2002).

 

“Bigots”!  That’s generally reserved for Fundamentalist Christians.  At first I thought Powell was speaking about the Christian-right.  Then I thought, no, he must be speaking to the fanatical Muslims; but then I thought, maybe he’s speaking to both groups.  But, no, deep in my spirit, I believe Powell was speaking to Jerry Falwell, Franklin Graham, Pat Robertson, Jerry Vines, you, and I – us religious bigots cloaked in false spirituality. I was right the first time.  Powell was speaking against Evangelical Christians because Rizwan Jaka, president of ADAMS (All Dulles Area Muslim Society) confirmed that to be the case when he said,

 

“It is encouraging that President Bush responded and that Colin Powell also spoke out positively” (Arab News.com, “Muslim-Americans Asked Bush To Defend Islam” by Barbara Ferguson, November 20, 2002).

 

Oh, poor dear Christians – they are not accepting of the god, Allah and the Islamic faith, and are therefore not real Christians in Powell’s eyes.  Saints, what we have here is an administration of wolves in sheep’s clothing. 

 

A word to the Christian-right:  the George W. Bush Administration is not your friend.  When you voted for him, it was just a matter of selecting the lesser of two evils, and it will always be that way until there is One World rulership when you won’t have a choice.

 

        American Jewish Committee:  Jews, of all people, siding with Muslims against Christians.  Oh, if only Falwell had not apologized and just stood by what he had spoken.  They piercingly criticized the outspoken preachers for coming against Muslims.  They are concerned about inter-religious relations.  The devil with inter-religious relations – that’s ecumenism and that is not the road that genuinely True Christians travel.

 

The above, and many other wolves out there, are trying to convince themselves that the United States is not at war with Islam, even at the expense of crushing the Christians.  Well, you may not believe it is war against Islam, but it is war against Islam.  The inseparable bonding amongst those of the Islamic faith makes it a war against Islam because they will all stand together on the frontline of battle. It’s the brotherhood! (With the exception of a few Muslims not in agreement with the fundamentalist extremist, but what is that compared to the other questionable 400 million in this country?  Nothing!)  It’s war against Islam which Islam declared first. 

 

Interjection:  Muslims like to remind the world of the ungodly murderous acts against them by the Crusaders but they must be reminded that those Crusaders were CATHOLIC and not Evangelical Christians.  Evangelical Christians are not murderers for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  No one can be forced to accept Jesus, even at the threat of death, because it would not be a sincere conversion.

 

Conclusion

 

With Falwell’s mouth he shows much love for God, but his heart is sold out to the things that he covet, such as being recognized by those in the political arena and by the secular media. This means a lot to him – his face shown and his mouth heard, even if it means apologizing for the truths spoken that is found unpleasant to someone else. 

 

Wanting to turn aside criticism is like being sorry for what you said because of the consequences it may bring.  It’s being a “Religious Fradicat” or a coward. It is that that brought Falwell to be a false witness for Jesus Christ and The Church.  Falwell doesn’t want the people who look up to him as “the Reverend Falwell,” to abandon him. Woe unto you Jerry Falwell when all men speak well of you; you begin to thrive on that and feel that you don’t want to disappoint anyone or let them down.  So what do you do?  You compromise your Christianity to stay in good graces of people and not that of God.  There is a word for Jerry Falwell from The Lord, and it is…

 

“…for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God” (Luke 16:15).

 

All for honor – reputation – the respect he gets from mankind, is what is most important to him.  Falwell can easily retract his words because he is now with an apostate mind from having lifted himself up high; from having shot up his top among the thick branches, and his spirit is even lifted up in his height.  He is a big man of big important; the same big man of importance who made a judgment call against Islam according to God’s judgment, but out of fear, drew it back.

 

Jerry Falwell, should not have been about the business of feeding himself but feeding God’s flock. He has become too entangled in politics that has been good food to his soul and to his flesh.  Why didn’t he become a politician instead of a preacher?  One cannot be both a minister of the Gospel and a politician. Falwell’s business is to feed the Sheep – lay hands on the Sheep for healing, be there to comfort and pray for them; be there for the binding up of the broken hearted; search out for those Sheep who have gone astray and lead them back into the arms of The Lord.  Jerry Falwell, apologized to the Muslims but now needs to repent of his deeds before God and His people.  If he finds difficulty in doing this, then he needs to leave the ministry of Jesus Christ that he has tainted with his weak character – character that is befitting a non-Christian with no credibility.  If he refuses to repent and let God turn him around, then those 22,000 members of Thomas Road Baptist Church sitting under Falwell, supporting him spiritually and financially, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I say unto you, come out of that church.

 

True Christians are to be willing to speak boldly about how wrong Islam is in their point of view of who God is.  They will not, and should not, go out of their way to run television ads, print billboards, or run radio spots, but when called upon to make commentary about Muhammed and Islam, do not hold your peace – speak it forth.  That’s love!  Love toward Muslims is speaking the truth and it is not going to their Mosque. It is not claiming that we have the same God/god. It is not biting your tongue about what Islam really is so not to offend Muslims.  It is not apologizing for having spoken the truth about Islam when under world condemnation, you passionately and with a contrite heart say, “I’m sorry”!  That’s not showing love; that's showing spinelessness on the part of one who supposedly represents Jesus Christ. All Truly Born Again Spirit-Filled Christians, from the preachers on down to those sitting in the pews, have got to quit making concessions – quit compromising, and quit apologizing for the truth spoken that emanates from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
