Today’s
Persecuted Christians
Are Pseudo-Christians
(July 15, 2001; modified July 2004)
To be persecuted is to be maltreated as in tortured, beaten unmercifully,
enslaved, imprisoned, raped, purposely separated from family, burned alive,
crucified, sent off to labor camps, and more. Being persecuted also comes in
verbal form. However, today’s
persecution of “so-called Christians” encompasses all of the
aforementioned atrocities. But who is that so-called Christian? The perfect
true-to-life example of a “so-called Christian” or one who says “I’m a
Christian” but is Christian only in label was first-hand exposure for Dave
Hunt and referenced in his newsletter, the Berean Call, July 2001.
We all see this more than we care to acknowledge.
Mr. Hunt tells of when staying in a Northern England bed-and-breakfast
(“B&B”) and he commented to the host:
“’It’s the first
time we’ve found one [Bible] in a B&B.
Does that mean you’re a believer’?
“'I’m a Christian,’
he replied firmly.
“An Anglican [asked
Hunt]?
“’Yes, of course.’
“There was no mistaking
the conviction in his voice.
“A
brief but lively discussion followed. Our
host earnestly supported Prince Charles’s intention to change the oath he
would take upon becoming king from ‘Defender of the faith’
to ‘Defender of faith.’ He
insisted the change was justified because of England’s multicultural society
and assured us that Muslims and Buddhists and anyone else all worshiped the
same God as Christians. His
‘Christianity’ was really Anglican churchianity – and any ‘faith’
would do.”
From the above, it should be painfully clear to you that “all that says
‘is,’ ‘ain’t.’” These
are not True Born Again, Spirit-filled, Uncompromising Christians
(“T-BASUCs”). These are
people labeled Christian but are not True Christians, and there is a
difference. No, no. I’m
not judging, the judge is the Word of God, and that’s what I’m going by
…
"...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3).
"...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5).
“…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:15-18).
That is how you identify a
“True Born Again, Spirit-filled, Uncompromising Christian” from a person
wearing the label “Christian” but who is in fact a Pseudo-Christian.
One
more very good example of Pseudo-Christians is in the Palestinian Christians.

Palestinian Christians are not truly Christians (very few exceptions).
They wear the name but hardly “talk-the talk” and surely they don’t
“walk-the-walk.”
“As a result of unceasing persecution, the Christians are forced to behave
like any oppressed minority which aims to survive. Christians in Palestinian
Authority-controlled areas have taken to praying in secret. The wisdom of
survival compels them to assess the ‘balance of fear’, according to which
they have nothing to fear from Israel but face an existential threat from the
Palestinian Authority and their Muslim neighbours. They act accordingly:
they seek to ‘find favour’ through unending praise and adulation for the
Muslim ruler together with public denunciations of the ‘Zionist entity’”

As with the instances above – only labeled Christian, so is a great majority
of the so-called Christians that are being persecuted in Sudan, Indonesia, and
China. There are exceptions and them being the large number of
underground T-BASUCs in China, Nigeria, and in Central and South America, to
name a few who are persecuted because of their genuine faith.
Many of them have and continue to die for their faith.
In the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Communicator of June/July 1996,
Mary K. Moore’s article, “The Forgotten Christians of The Middle East”
spells out precisely who these so-called Christians are that are being
persecuted in Sudan.
“Sudan: Seven million black Africans live in the south.
Most of these tribes are Christians – Anglicans, other
Protestants and Catholics.”
Christianity
Today on line very recently defined the
Sudanese persecuted as …
“…Anglicans, Presbyterians, Methodist, Lutherans, and Catholics…and
for believing that Jesus is God, they are raped, tortured, enslaved, or burned
to death at the hands of their Islamic Arab countrymen (Christianity Today
online, “No Greater Tragedy” by Jeff M. Sellers, June 25, 2001.)
Anglicans –
Presbyterians – Methodists – Lutherans – Catholics, all of who are least
likely to fit into the category of being T-BASUCs.
These are mainline Protestant denominations that are very liberal in
their beliefs, excepting for the Catholics who are bottomless when it comes to
paganism and tradition. Catholicism knows no depths when it comes to polluting
Christianity. Therefore, this writer will not hesitate to say, these so-called
Christians are not Christians because they are not Born Again
and Holy Ghost baptized. And yes, there is a difference according to the Word
of God.
These so-called Christians
of the mainline Protestant denominations and Catholicism are told to
convert to Islam or else it is no food, no clothes, no shelter, no freedom, or
death if they don’t convert. They cave in and deny their faith. These Pseudo-Christians are not T-BASUCs so
they are therefore outside the Kingdom of God and they need salvation.
Our prayers should not be for God to deliver them out of
bondage, nor should we protest and demonstrate in Washington to get President
Bush and Congress to pressure the governments of the persecuting countries to
stop persecuting these Christians. Our
prayers should be for their salvation and deliverance out of those
denominations that they are in and to come to know, love, and serve the real
Jesus Christ. They need Jesus! The
Sudanese Pseudo-Christians have been going through persecution for the last
20-plus years, and it is not because they are suffering for righteousness
sake. It is the same for the
Indonesian Pseudo-Christians.
“…who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is
good?
“But and if ye suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye: and be not
afraid of their terror, neither be troubled” (1 Peter 3:13-14).
These sufferers are not happy.
They are jumping the Christian ship by the droves when God is trying to
purge them of their ways so that they can truly be called His children.
To be called God’s children requires more than having in
common the facts that Jesus is the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary,
suffered and died for our sins, and was resurrected on the third day.
One must become Born Again and Holy Ghost baptized for starts. (Son is
in the spirit realm, not the flesh realm of male and female.)
No one is automatically made a son but becomes a son or develops into a
son. This is spiritual growth.
This means you have got to obey His Word -
His Law - His High Holy Standard.
You have got to walk in absolute faith while living your life as Jesus
did - obedient to God’s
Commandments. It is a spiritual
fact that all that don’t love and obey Him are children of darkness and
their father is the Devil. If one does not live for Jesus, then he or she
lives for Satan. Question: Are these Pseudo-Christians truly God’s
children? Saints,
it will be these same Pseudo-Christians that will partnership with the One
World Religious leader against us true Saints of God when The Tribulation
period comes upon us all.
At this juncture, I will
give you an example of what Pseudo-Christians are quite capable of doing
because they don’t have the real Jesus – not Born Again and Holy Ghost
baptized. Catholics are
Christians, right? Yea.
Pseudo-Christians they are. In
San Nicolas, Mexico, as recent as June 2001, Catholics are persecuting
Protestant families and threatening them by wielding machetes and throwing
stones at them. Catholics –
so-called Christians, right? The
mayor of the town is Catholic as well as the majority of its citizenry.
The 36 Protestant families that were converted by American missionaries
...
“…refused to pay council taxes for the traditional celebration for the
patron saint of San Nicolas. According
to custom, the taxes provide food for the entire community during the
festivities" (Independent News.co.uk, “Mayor In Mexican Tax Row Cuts
Protestants’ Electricity” by Jan McGirk, June 24, 2001.)
The reason that these
Christians refused, or as the local Protestant leader put it,
“We are being obliged to pay dues and sign an agreement denouncing our
faith….When we refused they began shutting off the water” (Ibid).
These Protestants didn’t
bow their knee to Baal because the Catholics (1) forbade them burying their
dead in public cemeteries since 1998; (2) cut off their water and electricity;
and (3) threw rocks at them and brandished machetes in their presence. These
Protestants didn’t deny The Lord just so that they could conveniently bury
their dead in the public cemeteries; have running water and electricity; nor
because they would not have to worry about being threatened with machetes and
rocks. Listen up, these very same
Catholics in San Nicolas, Mexico will say without hesitating, “I’m a
Christian,” when nowhere on God’s green earth are they True Christians
according to the Word of God. “You know them by their fruits” (Matthew
7:16) – fruits of righteousness or fruits of unrighteousness. For sure, they don’t have the fruit of the Holy Spirit, but
that of the Catholic Church, and they need salvation, Holy Ghost baptism, and
deliverance the same as needed by those Pseudo-Christians who are undergoing
persecution.
The
point to remember from this very recent incident is that, as those Catholic
perpetrators believe they are Christians, when they are not, those persecuted
Pseudo-Christians (Anglicans – Presbyterians – Methodists – Lutherans
– Catholics) are not being persecuted because they are True Born Again
Spirit-filled Uncompromising Christians, but because they are not walking with
The Lord and He is allowing that to happen so that their lives are
indisputably turned around and they walk with Him in His true light as T-BASUCs.
As I said before, Saints, it will be these same Pseudo-Christians that
will partnership with the One World Religious leader against us true Saints of
God when The Tribulation period comes upon us.
There is grave persecution of Christians in China.
In China it is required of Christians to worship only in churches that
are registered with the Communist Chinese government. Underground house churches – mostly Protestant – are
illegal and congregants therefore engage in “illegal religious activities”
according to the Chinese government. When
caught, they pay heavy fines and/or most times are sentenced to camps for
re-education by means of much torture.
The Chinese government is very
clever, least they think they are. A
short time back they insincerely sought spiritual advice from Paul Crouch,
President of Trinity Broadcasting Network on how to deal with the Falun Gong
cult because they see them as a public menace and threat to the Communist
party. So there is nothing like pretending to need a little help from a
well-recognized apostate “Christian.” (By the way, Crouch bought into it.) That was all “show” so that the United States
Congress would not look upon them with disfavor while they sought
“Permanent Normal Trade Relations” with the United States.
Just the last week of June 2001, the Chinese Government sent the head
of the Chinese state-recognized China Christian Council (registrar for
Protestant churches) to the United States to let the congressmen and the media
know that “…all was well with Christianity in his homeland” (UPI, “Analysis:
China’s Church Worries,” by Uwe Siemon-Netto, June 22, 2001).
In
a press conference at the Chinese Embassy in Washington, Wanzao Han said that
the Christian situation had improved. He
also spoke of his concern about bringing up a “new generation of leaders.”
No sooner said than done. June
7, 2001 Charlotte Observer reported of Han’s visit to the national offices
of the United Church of Christ. There
he announced …
“’We need more experienced and qualified professors to teach our
students,’ said Wenzao Han, chairman of China Christian Council, the body of
Protestant churches in China. ‘Educational
training is of the utmost importance to our growing church’” (The
Charlotte Observe, “China Invites Christian Missionaries” by Colette M.
Jenkins, June 7, 2001).
Making sure that the people
don’t become T-BASUCs, Han gets three seminary professors who will spend a
year teaching ministers. Those
professors going to China will be Carolyn and James Higginbotham who will
teach Old Testament and pastoral counseling, and represent the Global
Ministries of the United Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ. Also going will be Ann Wire who represents the very liberal
Presbyterian Church U.S.A., and will teach New Testament. Is that progress?
I hardly think so. These
pastors and Christians will be no better off than they are now.
Those
Red Chinese Devils know what they’re doing.
It looks like they are sincere about this, but they’re not.
They will continue to persecute the underground Protestants churches
because they feel threatened by their growth – by the truth.
Of the reported 67 million illegal Protestants in China, we must
believe that, if not all, a great majority of them are Born Again, and are
willing to die for their faith. If
they were not, they would not remain underground rather than join state-run
churches.
If they were not, after re-education for those caught, they would not
go back underground, and risk being caught again.
These
persecuted Christians are such because they live in a communist society.
B-u-t, the persecuted Christians will very soon experience what it is
to freely worship The Lord and freely speak about His goodness before the
world-wide wave of persecution comes upon all of us T-BASUCs.
God is going to deliver the Saints.
They will be free because China as we know it, is “going down.”
China does not fit into the scheme of things – One World Government,
that is.
